The task
The consistency of butter does not allow it to be simply placed on an aperture for color measurement, as this would contaminate the sensitive measuring device. For this reason, it is often laboriously coated in measuring cuvettes for color measurement, which have to be laboriously cleaned again after the measurement.
The solution
For color measurement, HunterLab recommends simply placing a block of butter with a pre-cut transparent carrier film on the aperture of the ColorFlex EZ spectrophotometer.
The measurement is very simple:
- Place foil on butter
- Place the butter with the foil side on the measuring aperture
- Trigger measurement at the touch of a button
- Read off values
The ColorFlex EZ:
- The circumferential measuring geometry of 45°/0° measures color as you see it with the eye
- Small and compact, the ColorFlex EZ requires very little space in the laboratory
- Optional EasyMatch QC quality control software for the PC
- A connection to a printer or a PC can be easily established via suitable interfaces
